About Us
Chilax Surf Co is a surf school, located in Rossnowlagh, Co. Donegal, the surf capital of Ireland. Chilax Surf Co. was set up by Michelle and Aisling Garrett in March 2010. Between Michelle, Aisling and the rest of the team you can be sure to get the best surfing tuition and information year round. Since setting up we have taught surfing to lots of people through our regular surf lessons and Surf Academy, as well as teaching local kids in our After School Surf Club.
Michelle has been surfing from a young age on the northwest coast and is well known in Irish surfing circles for taking on heavy waves and deep barrels. She has explored many waves on the west and north coasts of Ireland. She is from Ballyshannon. Michelle is an ISA Level 2 certified instructor and has done a lot of coaching with all levels of surfers, young and old. It is hard to get her to work if the waves are pumping. Favourite board is a DHD 6’5″.
Aisling is also from Ballyshannon and caught the surfing bug at Tullan strand in Bundoran back in 2004. After a year of being a weekend warrior and driving to Rossnowlagh twice a week she decided to quit her job and become a full time travelling surfer. This lead to 4 years on the road in Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, USA, South and Central America. Aisling is currently riding a 5’10 Kronig board from Brazil and is still trying to come to terms with how good the waves are in Ireland after sampling some of the top surf breaks around the world.
Michael Mc Gee
We are pleased to announce that Micheal Mc Gee from Enniscrone has joined our surf team. Michael is without doubt one of the most talented surfers of the last decade in Ireland. He has won numerous competitions and his powerful, freestlye surfing is second to none. Michael will be doing some training sessions with our junior riders.
Ian Dolan
One of the most competitive and powerful young surfers in Bundoran. Sponsored by Billabong. Ian has racked up a string of good results in contests at home and abroad. Ia is a regular in the line up at all the Bundoran breaks. He can be surfing anything from 2 foot onshore Tullan after school to double overhead Peak at the weekends.
John Do
John is surfing very well and has the results to prove it. He is very dedicated to progressing his surfing and is out in the water as much as possible. John has recently been racking up some serious tube time locally.
Our members are people who love surfing and share the values of camaraderie, respect, honesty and encouragement of healthy fun. Thus, the activities developed within and outside our facilities, we show how the club is comprised of the best staff that supports our team in this town.
